Interdisciplinary of Climate, Environment, and Energy Studies

Educational Objectives

The educational purpose of Climate, Climate and Energy Studies is to cultivate comprehensive talents capable of leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution with a strong understanding of natural sciences, humanistic and social values, and economic perspectives. This is to address the global issues faced by modern humanity, such as rapid industrialization, urbanization leading to environmental degradation, climate change, and other pressing challenges. The objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle these issues and lead in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where solutions require a multidisciplinary approach and a holistic understanding of the environment, energy, and climate-related matters.

Educational Goals

  1. To cultivate modeling, theoretical research, policy analysis, and development capabilities related to sustainability diagnostics and assessment, eco-friendly energy transition, environmental impact assessment, international environmental negotiations and cooperation, climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas reduction, and other key global policies related to climate, environment, and energy. Students will be equipped with the ability to contribute to these areas.
  2. To lead in nurturing talents with the capability to take on roles in international organizations such as UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification), GEF (Global Environment Facility), GCF (Green Climate Fund), World Bank, ADB (Asian Development Bank), as well as climate, environment, and energy research institutions both domestically and internationally, government agencies, public corporations, etc., and lead in shaping the global environmental landscape.
